Persona - Say It All, 2015-07-05 By Russell Spencer (RS2207) Acrylic on Canvas, 1015 x 761 mm Not For Sale Contact Russell Look at large version Look at progress pictures One of my favourite movies is Ingmar Bergman's Persona, 1966, starring Liv Ullmann as Elisabet Vogler and Bibi Andersson as Alma. Elisabet is a famous actress who has stopped speaking. Alma is her nurse. In this scene Elisabet's estranged husband is visiting, and Alma speaks with him on Elisabet's behalf. The words in the painting are the subtitle that appears at that moment in my DVD of the film. The words are from the husband, and I don't know what they mean but I like them.
